A short story about a nice walk . . . A man named Frank gave me a white dahlia on my walk last night. He is a gardener, he is frank. The white dahlia is not just white. It has a soul of gold at its core and periwinkle tips. “There are many more,” he said. Walking on, a neighbourhood cat named Taco came up and rubbed on my legs. Black as wisdom, as sophia. Taco. At the foot of the hill, a puppy named Myla trotted up to me, and when I leaned down, she kissed my face. Her friend Molly, a lady dog of some years, then glided up and pressed her head to my chest and looked deep into my eyes. Regarded. When I went to the grocery store, they were out of omega supplements, but an alpha named LaMarr appeared from nowhere and told me of his 82 years, of being a marine, of changes, and of legacy. He’d written a book and is writing a new one now. At the end of the day, I ate humanity's best invention: Ice cream. : - )

If you'd told a teen Mara that her music would one day be played in rotation on a *fantastically* curated radio station like Channel 98.9 Corry's Radio Alternative -- along with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Jack White, and Death Cab for Cutie [[nevermind outstanding regional (and beyond) artists like Slim and Red and Monica Lewis]] . . . well, I think she'd have written a sonnet about it. And then she'd have wandered into the falling predawn snow and breathed angsty-yet-hopeful mist up to the stars. But that was just her way of expressing excitement, haha! 😆

It's absolutely gratifying to learn today that the music video for my original song "Midnight Mind" received two award wins from the remarkable High Tatras International Film Festival!!!

When I first observed the poetry with which they described their event and their love of filmmaking, I was inspired. They seek to share a connection between the sights and sounds of the High Tatra mountain range where they hold the festival ... "a lullaby for the eyes and ears" -- following and flowing with every step.
