It's absolutely gratifying to learn today that the music video for my original song "Midnight Mind" received two award wins from the remarkable High Tatras International Film Festival!!!
.
When I first observed the poetry with which they described their event and their love of filmmaking, I was inspired. They seek to share a connection between the sights and sounds of the High Tatra mountain range where they hold the festival ... "a lullaby for the eyes and ears" -- following and flowing with every step.

It has been GREAT seeing the news of Kate Bush's timeless music soaring up in the charts after being featured meaningfully in the Stranger Things series!! Congratulations to the genius herself! (Not to mention ST has previously featured other brilliant artist including David Bowie, Modern English, and Peter Gabriel). Along with the news, I've been seeing lots of Kate Bush art and past photoshoots posted online lately. One piece I'd never seen before was of her floating in water with flowers -- evocative of painters like Waterhouse and Millais. I could not help but also be reminded of this photo-series we shot last year. Water, flowers, and all! It's terribly cool to see the shared aesthetic -- especially not having known of the connection beforehand!

Our chance to make a positive impact .... to love, to heal, to inspire -- whether our effect is on a person or two (an animal or two) or many. To tap into something vast with small actions or large. The seeds we plant. The ripples we cause. I often mention the musical heroines Annie Lennox, Kate Bush, Laurie Anderson, etc. In that same breath, here are four more than have caused such resonating notes of hope in so many (and certainly in me). I'm happy to play a small part in an epic EP that was just released: THE SUN DESTROYERS by Oldster. Oldster is helmed by composer and songwriter Josh Benash (@joshbenashcomposer) who fronted the band Kiss Kiss, and includes performances from several remarkable artists.

Josh's evocative track "The Forever Seed" features harmonies that I wrote and performed as well as outstanding drums by Benny Goldstein (@beangoldsteam). There's truly gorgeous artwork on this single and the ENTIRE album by Nova Stardust (@novastardust) / Laura Carrozza Dutra.
.
Each song on the EP is masterful. I am genuinely moved by what Josh and the whole collective of artists have created. It all blasts you right in the heart with equal measures of cosmic power and dystopian melancholy.
